IDDON JOINS TAG TRIUMPH

Multiple British Supermoto title winner Christian Iddon has agreed a deal to contest the 2011 Fuchs Silkolene British Supersport Championship with the Oxford Tag Triumph team.

Christian made the switch to circuit racing last year and competed in British Superbikes with the SMT Honda team before switching to Supersport – competing in both the World and British series’ towards the end of the campaign.

After two solid outings in BSS with championship winning team GNS Racing, Christian has now confirmed he will make the full-time switch to Supersport for the new season after agreeing a deal with the Tag Triumph team and he is ready for the challenge ahead.

“2010 was my first full season of road racing and what looked like being a dream year in BSB ended up becoming quite unsettled,” he said. “I had a few options for 2011 but when the opportunity to race with the Oxford Tag Triumph team in Supersport came up, I knew it was the right one for me.

“The Triumph Daytona 675 is a fantastic bike, the team is very professional, and my new team-mates are fantastic riders so I’m sure I’ll have everything I need to be competitive. I’ve had long talks with the team and I’m feeling confident that with Oxford Tag Triumph, I’ll be able to learn, enjoy my racing and start achieving the results I know I am capable of.

“I’m sure that 2011 is going to be a great year for me and the team.”

Christian will ride alongside Paul Young and Billy McConnell for the 2011 season.
